[03022014] The Horrors of JELL-O
Posted on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 4:44 PM

Ever wondered what your delicious slice of raspberry JELL-O's made of? Oh you know it's made of Gelatin? Great! But where does the gelatin come from? You're not sure? Oh, well the gelatin in JELL-O is just cooked collagen... from animal bones and skin! Vegetarian's probably know this already, but heck was I shocked when I found out. Eh, this changes nothing though (yay JELL-O).

So we did an experiment on JELL-O (we couldn't eat it though, which would have been rather disappointing if hygiene meant nothing to me). So we read the instructions on how to make some raspberry pineapple JELL-O (..just pineapples man). The recipe called for "cooked or canned" pineapple, but why? Why not fresh or frozen? We'll find out homies.

Okay so after a day or two or fermentation (that sounded kind of nasty) these lovely petri dishes of JELL-O were born:

Just JELL-O. Regular Consistency

JELL-O with Meat Tenderizer
Jam consistenc

JELL-O with fresh pineapples.
Watery consistency.
Not tilted at an extreme angle
because it threatened to spill.

JELL-O with canned pineapples
Regular JELL-O Consistency
but with pineapples!!!!!!!
